SOME OF US ARE VERY NEW TO DIGITAL AND ELECTRONIC READING

and we haven't yet decided to drop a handful of twenties on the counter in order to purchase an electronic reader like a Kindle, Nook, Ibook, Kobo, etc. We do, however, have a PC, laptop or tablet. Guess what... WE TOO CAN ENJOY EBOOKS! And we should. Although many of us struggle to get past not turning physical pages, we don't actually have the capacity in our homes to store thousands of books either, therefore, the digital or electronic format book is a much better option, not to mention that Ebooks are typically less expensive than their printed counterparts.

The BIG NAME READERS like Kindle and Nook have free versions of their reader to download on your PC. With either of these two readers, you'll be able to read most of the electronic books in print. You can download them for your device quickly and easily and be ready to enjoy reading your favorite authors, like Bil Howard, immediately.

The DIFFERENT FORMATS can be a problem. You typically can't read Nook Ebooks on a Kindle and you can't read Kindle Ebooks on a Nook. If you discover that you often change between Barnes and Noble whose Ebooks come in EPUB format and Amazon whose Ebooks come in MOBI format, you'll be tempted to have both Ereaders on your PC. That's not necessary, in fact, though I have the Kindle For PC software on my computer, I typically prefer to use my Calibre Reader, because it will not only allow you to read either EPUB or MOBI format books, but will allow you to convert them if you prefer one or the other formats. Calibre also comes in a free download that is specifically designed to fit your particular device.

All in all, I RECOMMEND that even if you download one or the other Ereaders that are listed above, you ought to have Calibre on your computer as well. If you own either a Nook or a Kindle or one of the other Ereaders, I still recommend having the Calibre download on your device. Why? Because it allows you to buy any book in any format and convert it, if necessary, to fit another. With a Calibre download on your PC, you are not limited to what format of Ebook you can read.

So... let me tell you more about yesterday's campaign. I couldn't be more pleased. The final number of downloads was 1209. Our goal had been 1000, so we were successful there. Thanks to family and friends who gave us a little extra push.

We finished #1 in the Metaphysical Fiction category... We hit that about mid-afternoon and held onto it.
We finished #3 in the Literary Fiction category... We couldn't quite get past Jodi Picoult, but we did pass A Tale of Two Cities, Les Miserables and Secret Garden... those are giants. That made me smile a little.
We finished #177 in total Literary Fiction downloads, which when you consider how many free books are out there, was a pretty good accomplishment. I wanted to make the top 100, but just didn't quite make it.

We're hoping to hold our position long enough to enjoy some decent sales numbers after this surge, but more importantly, we are hoping that we created some new fans and that we can get some awesome reviews to help draw in a few more. To everyone who helped out, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

A tale that weaves through history and gives readers glimpses of the metaphysical that can induce deep pondering about life and its meaning, MacGregor's Wolf is a fascinating story that grips a reader's attention from beginning to end. Bil Howard's knowledge of history is evident in the detailed scenarios his protagonist finds himself in. He accurately captures the tone of each era, and provides enough details to make each adventure truly realistic. His writing hypnotizes the reader, and successfully induces feelings of melancholy, desperation, and eventually hope. MacGregor's Wolf: Lessons of Time by Bil Howard is an amazing journey through fascinating periods in history where the main character, Ray Barrett, accompanied by a wolf, experiences strange lands and time travel. There is intense action where vivid dreams and reality collide. At the beginning of the story, Ray rides a horse through the beautiful mountains in the typical silent cowboy way. You can feel the earthiness, solitude and slow pace. Then at camp things drastically change. The rest of the 24 chapters tell tales of Scotland, Montana, Columbia, Egypt, Greece, the Mediterranean Sea, warring clans, Indian attacks, Christian crusades, Spartans, Israeli jets, King Richard, ghouls, Russians and Germans, the Golden Gate Bridge and a black horse with a demonic voice. To say there is a lot going on is an understatement.

It is clear to see that Bil Howard’s love of historical fiction and the wide outdoors is evident in his writing style. Each lyrical step and detailed adventure of Ray is chronicled in a well-composed plot, which attests to the abilities of the author. Busy Writer

I've recently been fairly busy with developing my ghostwriting business.

Though I obviously can't tell you what I've written and who I've written for, I've written more than a dozen ebooks for various authors on various subjects and in various genres. The amazing thing is that I'm getting some great reviews on those other books.

The positive feedback that I'm seeing is very encouraging and has me chomping at the bit to be writing more for my own personal publication.

I am also working on regaining the rights to "The Wolf of the Highlands," my first novel which was originally published as a serial fiction novel through Senserial Publishing a little over a year ago. Senserial has been unable to continue due to a tragic accident which has disabled the owner/operator of the company. As soon as I have information concerning "The Wolf of the Highlands," I will let you know.

GETTING TO KNOW ME

With the release of my first book "The Wolf of the Highlands", published by Senserial Publishing, I started on a journey that has been over thirty years in the making. Not long after "The Wolf of the Highlands was in publication, I released "Zipaquirá, the first in "The Belle of Colombia Series" in both English and Spanish. My next release in the series is "Rionegro" which is due out in January of 2014. You can purchase "Zipaquirá" and "The Wolf of the Highlands" now

A very wise professor of English Literature and Grammar at West Texas State University once told me how "reading is an opportunity to have a conversation with the author that transcends space and time." She always referred to authors as a friend. "I want you to have a conversation with my friend, Willa Cather," she might say. From her I learned my love of literature. She taught me even more, however, she taught me how to write. Though I was struggling to find my voice at the time, I can still remember the far away look that she would get in her eyes as she read something I had written and then said, "Ooooohhhh, that's gooooood!" Ms. Collins, Thank you.

Now that I've found my voice, I just need to draw your attention. So, please, sit down with me and let's have a conversation. I've got some Colombian coffee on and my imagination is always wandering.

I am a novelist and English teacher originally from Powderhorn, Colorado, now living in San Antonio de Prado (Medellin), Colombia.
